The UC Davis Western Cooling Efficiency Center (WCEC) is pleased to announce that the Western Cooling Challenge (WCC) is well underway, with a good group of participating manufacturers.

The twelve companies that have committed to participating in the Western Cooling Challenge are shown here. Seven are participating as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Two are participating as OEMs and as component suppliers. Three are participating as component suppliers. 

The schedule for the WCC is:

• January 2009:  Laboratory testing of WCC entries can begin
• June 2009:  Field-testing of WCC entries can begin
• January 2010:  Shipments of WCC compliant products can begin
• Production products must be available by January 1, 2011
