Task Force

The Western Cooling Efficiency Center is working with the California Public Utilities Commission and the California Investor Owned Utilities to develop ways to transform the HVAC Industry, as a part of the California Long Term Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan (CLEESP).  An industry "Task Force" has formed to represent the residential and small commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry. It will partner with government, utilities, the energy efficiency industry and other stakeholders in order to:

  1. Maximize the many benefits of cooling, heating, indoor air quality and energy efficiency services to consumers,
  2. Minimize the use of gas and electricity via sustainable practice and programs,
  3. Profit the individuals and organizations that ably deliver the above to consumers and society.

Through this collaboration, the residential and small commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry will be transformed, and will ensure that technology, equipment, installation and maintenance are of the highest quality to promote energy efficiency and peak load reduction.

Roundtable

As part of this activity, we worked with these partners to co-host an invitation-only "Roundtable" workshop to identify high priority actions to achieve the goals of the CLEESP, on May 12-13, in San Francisco.
